Should the library be open for free?

Recently, our class discussed whether the library should be open to students free of charge. Some students think it should be. The reasons are as follows. First, it belongs to all students, so they all have the right to borrow books for free. Second, students are just consumers and should not be asked to pay. Thirdly, if students are required to pay for reading, some students from poor families will not be able to afford it. It's not fair.

However, others are opposed to the idea. They think all students should pay for what they borrow from the library. Schools need money to build and manage libraries.
