The new library of Guangxi University was completed at the end of 2002 and put into use in 2003. It has a building area of 32,338 ㎡, more than 3,600 reading seats, more than 3.7 million books, more than 4,000 printed full-text newspapers and periodicals, and more than 6,000 electronic ones. The staff is 146. All services and business work of the library are managed by automation and networking. The building, facilities, service functions and management mode of the new library are basically in line with international standards, which embodies a brand-new concept: large bay, full shelves and staggered shelves on each floor, integrating storage, borrowing, reading, inspection and management, allowing bags to enter the library, opening from 7:50 to 22:30 every day and opening to 1068 every week.
