My friend Kong Gan, formerly known as Kong Xianglin, is the seventy-fifth grandson of Confucius. His great-grandfather was a juren and poet in the late Qing Dynasty. He read poetry books frequently since he was a child, which laid the foundation for writing great works in the future. When Chongqing was liberated, he was in the third year of Sichuan University and decided to join the army. 1950 When the Korean War broke out in June, he signed up for the war and moved to the north and south of the battlefield, risking his life to survive. Later, he moved to the education front to train talents. At the beginning of reform and opening up, he was transferred to China Encyclopedia Publishing House as an editor, and later became a senior editor for more than ten years. Amateurs and colleagues wrote "Thirty-six Talks about Ancient and Modern Times", which has been out of control ever since. After retirement, there is still room for self-reflection. The Art of War, which regards China's ancient military strategist as a classic, and Zhuge Liang, a great military strategist in the Three Kingdoms period, all applied his military thoughts and ingenious strategies to politics, economy, stock trading, sports and daily work and life. So he delved into Sun Tzu's Art of War, trying to interpret it with the most vivid words, and using examples to draw inferences, so that readers can enjoy reading and using these wonderful strategies, thus increasing their wisdom and talents. After ten years of experience, he changed the manuscript three times. 1998, Sun Tzu's The Art of War, Talk about Ancient and Modern Times, one of the series of military and civilian ingenuity co-authored by him and Mr. Wang Jinbao, was finally published. Since then, the second series of "36 ancient and modern plans" has been revised and reissued. This book won the National Book "Golden Key" Award and was published in traditional Chinese characters in Korea and Taiwan Province Province. In 2002, the new book Zhuge Liang's Ancient and Modern Art of War was released as the third part of the series of military and civilian ingenuity. After the book was published, readers thought it was practical and valuable for collection, so they rushed to buy it. He has become a great scholar in China who studies Sun Tzu's Art of War and Zhuge Liang's Art of War. He is invited to give lectures from time to time and has a large audience. His three masterpieces were introduced to the world through the English edition of China Journal. "Shenzhen Special Zone Daily" and "People's Liberation Army Daily" all made long comments; Beijing TV station also continuously broadcast the summary of "36 ancient and modern plans". After being republished by the Chinese Academy of Military Sciences Press in 2005, the Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of China also ordered the book to be distributed to border guards and soldiers in remote areas for reading.
He studied hard all his life, and his representative works include Encyclopedia of Family Practical Law and Teaching Materials for Philosophy Counseling. He is also the editor of Shocking the World for 1000 Days-Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Victory of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. Director of the Chinese Sun Tzu Art of War Research Association. His personal biography is included in the Chinese volume of World Cultural Celebrities.
In this octogenarian, my friend compiled a brief introduction of his poems and works into an episode named Snow Mud Claw by Fu Zi, which was handed down to later generations. There are a few words of congratulations, wishing him health and longevity!
