The collection of Hunan University Library consists of South Campus General Library, North Campus Branch Library, Special Collection Branch Library and Professional Branch Library. Through the construction of CALIS demonstration library, the unified management and cataloging outsourcing of all books and periodicals have been realized. The collection resources have been fully integrated, and the integrated retrieval of paper books, periodicals and digital resources has been realized. The retrieval results are embedded with e-reading and CCC, and the cross-campus borrowing, returning, universal reading and personalized automatic service system are realized. The paper documents collected in the main library of Nantah are comprehensive books, and the branch library of Peking University focuses on economics. Professional branch libraries collect some documents closely related to their disciplines, mainly books, periodicals and reference books. The collection covers a wide range, with complete disciplines and diverse carrier forms.

Hunan University Library has formed a literature resource system combining physical resources with virtual resources, and has increased the construction of digital resources year by year. By the beginning of 20 12, the library of Hunan University had collected 5.954 million books, including 2.977 million paper documents, including books and newspapers, including 240,000 foreign books and nearly 4,000 Chinese and foreign newspapers, which were basically included in the core journals of various disciplines. There are 109 databases with a capacity of 57.7TB, equivalent to 2.977 million digital resources. The library has developed and built a number of characteristic databases, which profoundly revealed the literature with subject characteristics, local characteristics and collection characteristics collected by our school. Among them, the Academy Culture Database, Hunan Folk Custom Database and Hunan Character Database are the construction projects of "China Higher Education Document Guarantee System (CALIS)", and the Academy Culture Database is the key funded project, which fills the gap in the CALIS project's Academy Culture Special Database and has certain influence in China. Hunan University Library has eleven professional branches, namely, economic branch, legal branch, management branch, humanities branch, science branch, media and art branch, chemical and environmental engineering branch, civil and architectural engineering branch, mechanical and material engineering branch, electrical and information engineering branch, Yuelu Academy Royal Library branch, and has 29 subject reference rooms. At present, there are 36 staff members, including 2 senior titles and 9 intermediate titles/kloc-0. Each branch library has a total collection of nearly 360,000 volumes and subscribed to 3,273 Chinese and foreign newspapers and periodicals. * * * There are 529 reading seats and 127 retrieval terminals with a total area of 5,283 square meters, all of which are connected to the library resource server through the campus network. The branch library mainly collects books of related disciplines and has strong professional characteristics. The opening of branch libraries adopts a unified mode to provide open services to readers, and implements an integrated management mode of management, collection, lending and reading. In addition to providing borrowing services for teachers and students of relevant departments, it also provides reading services for other readers of the school. At the same time, the reference room under the branch library also provides in-depth services such as library entry education, retrieval training, reference consultation, search on behalf of others, and topic selection services.
