The Founding History of Songpo Library
Since Liang Qichao proposed the establishment of Songpo Library, he has been raising funds to buy books. 1920, Liang Qichao returned from Europe and brought back 10000 books, and established a bookstore in Shihu Hutong, Xidan (later became the first library of Songpo). Later, the Beiyang government allocated 24,000 books purchased from Yang Shoujing to enrich the collection. These books constitute the basic collection of Songpo Library. After the opening of Songpo Library, it attracted some quiet and favorite readers. 1929 after Liang Qichao's death, the museum was merged into the National Beiping Library, the predecessor of Beijing Library.

From the founding of Songpo Library to his death, Liang Qichao did a lot of practical work for the development of China Library. 1925 In April, he promoted the establishment of China Library Association, a national library organization, and served as the chairman of the first Council. In June of the same year, he served as the director of Shi Jing Library and 1926 as the director of the National Beiping Library. In a few short years, he devoted himself to the development of China library and made historic contributions to the research of philology and bibliography. 1929 19 10/9, Liang Qichao died of illness, and his son and daughter fulfilled their wills and put all the books in Tianjin "Ice Room" study, including 283 1 species and 41477.
