Sichuan University of Light Industry and Chemical Technology is an ordinary full-time institution of higher learning, with nearly 60 years of undergraduate education and 20 years of postgraduate education, which is coordinated by nine disciplines including engineering, science, management, teaching, literature, history, art, law and economics. The school is located in Zigong and Yibin, two national historical and cultural cities, with four campuses: Libaihe, Huidong, Yibin and Huangling. The school has a long history and excellent educational tradition, and won the national "Basic Capacity Building Project of Universities in the Midwest" twice in a row. Historical evolution: the school is an undergraduate college that moved westward with the "third-line construction". 1965, in response to President Mao Zedong's call and Premier Zhou Enlai's instructions, some of the former security majors of East China Institute of Chemical Technology (now East China University of Science and Technology) moved westward to Zigong City, Sichuan Province. Elite forces were transferred from Shanghai headquarters, and some scientific researchers were seconded from Zhejiang University and Fudan University to form the Southwest Branch of East China Institute of Chemical Technology, which was called the "652" project. The school 1979 was renamed Sichuan Institute of Chemical Technology, 1983 was renamed Sichuan Institute of Light Chemical Technology, in 2003, and in 20 18, it was renamed Sichuan Institute of Light Chemical Technology.
