The Library of China Central Radio and TV University was founded in September 1979, and its predecessor was the Reference Room of China Central Radio and TV University.

Since the pilot of open education in China Central Radio and TV University, the library of China Central Radio and TV University has accelerated the construction of electronic management system and digital collection resources while maintaining the construction of traditional libraries, focusing on the full-text periodical database and e-book database suitable for distance open education teaching.

Establish an independent optical fiber storage and service website, highlight the remote service characteristics of digital libraries, and form a collection construction and service system with the characteristics of distance education of Central Radio and TV University.

According to the development requirements of open construction and the requirements of building a learning society, the library of China Central Radio and TV University is fully launching and implementing the digital library construction of National Radio and TV University with digital library as the core, in order to provide a strong document guarantee system for distance education in China.

The existing social science stacks, natural science stacks, foreign language stacks and electronic publications in the printing resources of the Central Radio and TV University Library are all open-shelf loans.

The library of China Central Radio and TV University now has four departments: editorial department, circulation service department, resource development department and office.
