Chen's public welfare undertakings
1970, Chen initiated the establishment of a charitable foundation in Hong Kong. Through the foundation, he donates money to charities in Hong Kong and overseas every year. After 1980s, Chen Jiang's donation was extended to Chinese mainland. The management of the foundation said that the prerequisite for Mr. Chen's donation is that he and his family's names cannot be published in the newspaper, otherwise he will never get his donation again. To this end, many of Chen's donations in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Zhejiang often use the name "Anonymous". According to a rough estimate, so far, Chen and his foundation have donated hundreds of millions of dollars in total in the decades since its establishment.

As early as the end of 1986, he donated money to culture, education, medical care, health and charity in his hometown of Ningbo, with a total amount of11230,000 yuan. Since 1987, Chen has twice donated1650,000 yuan to his alma mater, Siyan Primary School, to help build teaching buildings and comprehensive experimental buildings. It has built Siyan Shiqi Middle School, Yunlong Town Kindergarten in Yin County, Xu Cun Donghai Primary School in Yunlong Town and Yunlong Town Middle School, as well as the Xiaoshi Middle School Library in Ningbo, the inpatient building of the Third Hospital in Ningbo and the Ningbo Swimming Club. He also donated a lot of medical equipment and ambulances to Bao Li Hospital, Women and Children Hospital, Second Hospital and Third Hospital. In order to facilitate the production and life of the people in his hometown, he invested many times to build Nanfeng Bridge and Miyan Bridge in Yinxian County. At the same time, Chen has repeatedly donated huge sums of money to his hometown of Ningbo, helping the disaster-stricken areas and helping the poor through non-governmental organizations such as the Yong-gang Friendship Association and the Ningbo Hometown Association. Only the above projects, the cumulative total has exceeded 30 million yuan.

In addition to Ningbo, Chen has made many donations in other areas of Zhejiang Province, including the construction of Hope Primary School and Nanfeng High-tech Building of Zhejiang University.

In Hong Kong where he lives, Chen has donated money to Shue Yan College (providing scholarships), Hong Kong Retinitis Pigmentosa Association (supporting research on retinal degenerative diseases), Gia College of Hong Kong Baoliang Bureau (operating funds), Friends of Tongji in Hong Kong (helping to build teaching facilities), Hong Kong Red Cross (providing disaster relief) and Legislative Council of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (helping to build Hong Kong Basic Law Library).

At the same time, Chen also donated huge sums of money to the Hope Project in the Mainland and the Shanghai Charity Federation through the Hong Kong Chen Foundation. From 65438 to 0993, Chen Foundation began to donate "Project Hope" to China Youth Development Foundation, and donated 600 hope primary schools in four consecutive batches, with a donation amount of/kloc-0.2 billion yuan, accounting for one-fifth of the total donation of Project Hope in China at that time. The 600 hope schools donated by the Chen Foundation spread all over 28 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government, which is very rare in the national hope project. Since 1998, Chen Foundation has also sponsored 36 training courses and trained 446 principals and backbones of Fuhe Hope Primary School. Chen has a soft spot for her second hometown, Shanghai. As of April 1999, Chen Foundation has donated more than 47 million yuan to Shanghai Charity Federation for "providing for the aged, helping the poor, helping students and helping the needy".

In Qiandongnan Prefecture, Guizhou Province, thanks to the generous donations of Chen Tinghua Foundation and Chen Hua himself, the backward education situation in poor mountainous areas has been fundamentally improved. Teaching buildings have sprung up in mountainous areas, and children who have dropped out of school have returned to school one after another, giving hope to poor mountainous areas.

Chen also enthusiastically supported the development of culture and art, made contributions to the prosperity of Chinese Peking Opera, and personally served as honorary head of China Juvenile Peking Opera Art Troupe.
