Heyuan dialect belongs to a kind of water source sound. The academic term of water source sound is Hakka Cantonese film, which was born at the intersection of Guangfu culture and Hakka culture. It was born under the influence of Oriental Hakka dialect and Western Cantonese. Heyuan dialect is mainly distributed in Yuancheng District and Dongyuan County of Heyuan City.
