What bugs are there in the book?
Fish moth

The bugs in the book are called Dù fish, also called clothing fish and bookworm; Harmful to books, harmless to people, and won't bite. You can ruin it by drying more books. Octopus usually lives in warm and humid places. It is a nocturnal insect. When it meets the light, it will be frightened and run away. It often feeds on dry paste and chewing gum stuck on the wall of old newspapers. People often feed on old books and dusty storage that people don't turn over.

Clothing fish is sensitive to temperature and humidity, and the suitable environmental temperature for its breeding is 16℃ ~ 30℃, and the relative humidity is 75% ~ 95%. In addition, the clothing fish has negative phototaxis and likes to hide in the dark and go out at night. Therefore, the breeding ground of clothing fish is bookcases, bookshelves, book bundles, floor seams and gaps between old books, which are dark and have a certain humidity.

When the temperature and humidity are not suitable for the reproduction of clothing fish, clothing fish will migrate to an environment with suitable temperature and humidity. Once found, especially in some professional libraries, we must use some methods to remove it.

Chemical measures mainly refer to the use of chemically synthesized pesticides to kill clothing fish. Boric acid, ammonium chloride aqueous solution, gypsum powder, etc. Can be used for treatment or at home; Fumigating with fumigant. Fumigation must last for a certain time in a closed and narrow room, and the effect will be better. After fumigation, it must be ventilated for a certain period of time to let the toxic gases disperse.

This method is harmful and not suitable for families. The library can transport books to a special fumigation room for cleaning.

Trap and kill clothing fish with poison bait. The poisoning rate of poison bait to clothing fish is much lower than that of fumigation, because only larvae and adults will be poisoned and die after eating poison bait, but it is ineffective for eggs, so poison bait can not be used to control and extinguish the outbreak of pests.
