Liaoning University of Petrochemical Technology is the first public petroleum industry school in New China. Founded in 1950, 1953 moved to Fushun as Fushun Petroleum School. ? 1958 was upgraded to Fushun Petroleum Institute, and 1970 was renamed Fushun Institute of Chemical Technology. Fushun Petroleum Branch was established in 1978, and Fushun Petroleum Institute was established in 1980.
