Department situation:

Since 2004, the Literature and Information Center (Library) of Fudan University has enrolled three masters of library science every year for three consecutive years.

Discipline construction:

Library science major includes three research directions: management and utilization of social science literature, application research of digital library and information service research.

The goal of library science major is to cultivate compound professionals who have all-round development in morality, intelligence and physique, have a solid theoretical foundation of library science, systematically master the theory and technology of modern libraries, and have strong innovative consciousness, research ability and management ability for the development and work practice of libraries. Graduates have a wide range of employment choices, and are suitable for employment in major enterprises and institutions, IT industry, press and publication departments, universities, hospitals and related research institutions, libraries, archives and museums, and engaged in information management and development.
