Ningxia Library is a large comprehensive research-oriented public library. 1953 was transformed from Yinchuan People's Library to Ningxia Provincial Library, 1954 was transformed into Yinchuan Library with the cancellation of Ningxia Province, 1959 newly established Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Library, 1963 merged into Yinchuan Library, 1979 was divided into two libraries, 6543. The new museum is located in Tongxin Road, Xixia District, Yinchuan City.

In 2008, a new museum was built at No.8 East Street, People's Square, jinfeng district, Yinchuan, which was one of the gift items for the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.

Ningxia Library is rich in collection resources. According to the statistics at the beginning of 2004, the library has 654.38+600,000 books (pieces). The circulation of books reaches more than 250 thousand copies every year. Ningxia Library is open every day for 365 days throughout the year. Ningxia Library has 500 visitors every day and thousands on weekends.
