This amazing design library, which combines eastern and western styles, is located in Binnenhof Ridderzaal, The Hague, the Netherlands. It is a pleasure to sit in the spiral staircase and railing of cast iron, painted with big red full of oriental flavor, with a high western atrium design, even if you don't study.
The building was built by architect Cornelis Hendrik Peters at the end of 19, because there was no electric light at that time. In order to reduce the use of candles and gas lamps in the library and ensure the safety of the collected documents, a huge glass dome was built on the ceiling of the building, so that the light can fully illuminate the whole four-story library through the atrium and the carved floor on each floor.
However, this library is not open to the public at ordinary times, and it is only open on weekends from the end of August to the end of September, which is European Heritage Day.
