National first-class library regulations
On June 22nd, 2005, People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Ministry of Culture published the list in the Decision of the Ministry of Culture on Naming Libraries of Grade I, II and III (Wen She Tu Fa [2005] 15), among which 344 libraries were named as "Grade I Libraries" and 4 12 libraries were named as "Grade II Libraries".

In 2009, the Ministry of Culture decided to conduct the fourth evaluation and grading, including 480 first-class libraries, 465 second-class libraries, 438+00 and 894 third-class libraries.
