Shawan Middle School in Tanchang County is located in Sixia Village, Shawan Town and developed from the original Shangcheng Primary School. 1958 Shangcheng primary school opened junior high school classes, 1959 merged into Liangshui Middle School in Wudu County. After Shawan Commune was transferred to Dangchang County, 1966 opened an agricultural middle school attached to a primary school. 1972, developed into a nine-year compulsory school; 1973, primary and secondary schools are separated. 1984 was renamed as "Agricultural Middle School in Dangchang County", 199 1 was renamed as "Shawan Middle School in Dangchang County".
