Australian Library is establishing a new service model to provide remote users with digital catalogues of Australian libraries and other institutions, which is an online service based on metadata retrieval. National Library's retrieval strategy: continue to develop online public retrieval catalogues and information portals, and provide comprehensive retrieval services; Expand the availability of digital information catalogue; Jointly develop a book delivery system with other organizations.

Australia has enjoyed many important resources nationwide, and will carry out activities to promote the use of bibliographic and metadata services used nationwide to describe, discover and provide electronic information resources; Determine the available topics of national bibliography/metadata services described in machine-readable catalogue and non-machine-readable catalogue formats, and provide deeper and wider level resource retrieval; Provide information and directory services jointly with all walks of life.
