Wu Cheng'en (1506—1583) is a native of Sheyang Mountain. Han nationality, from Shanyang County, Huai 'an Prefecture (now Huai 'an District, Huai 'an City). Ancestral home in Anhui, ancestral home in Zongyang Gaodian, so it is called Gaodian Wu.
There are hundreds of The Journey to the West published in Ming Dynasty, and there is no author's signature. The Journey to the West was written by Wu Cheng'en, first of all a scholar in Qing Dynasty, Wu Yumou. In Yang Shan's Legacy, Wu Yumou introduced Wu Cheng'en's words "Ruzhong, whose real name is Sheyang Mountain, I am a scholar in Huaixian Wenmu", and read Huaixian Wenmu, which contains a book The Journey to the West [1]. Since childhood, Wu Cheng'en has been reading extensively in Minhui, especially fond of fairy tales. After repeated setbacks in the imperial examination, he made up the examination and gave tribute to students in Jiajing. In the forty-five years of Jiajing (1566), he was appointed as the director of Changxing County, Zhejiang Province. Because of his difficult career, he never planned to be an official in his later years and wrote behind closed doors.
In 2004, the Huai 'an District Government of Huai 'an City, Jiangsu Province decided to build a memorial hall for Wu Cheng'en in the tea nunnery on the mountain, and set up a stone statue at the mountain gate to commemorate him.
The Journey to the West, also known as CCTV version or 86 version of The Journey to the West, is adapted from the literary classic of the same name by Wu Cheng'en, a novelist of the Ming Dynasty. It is a 4 1 costume drama produced by China International Television Corporation. Directed by Yang Jie, written by Dai, Yang Jie and Zou Yiqing, starring six young children, with Xu, Chi, Wang Yue, Ma Dehua, Liu Dagang, Li Shihong, Li Yang, Zhang Yunming and Li Po as the main voices.
