Xiongyue Town is located in the south of Yingkou City, adjacent to Chentun Town, gaizhou city in the east, across Xiongyue River from Jiulong Street in Xianrendao New District in the south, adjacent to Liaodong Bay in Bohai Sea in the west, and bordered by Hongqi Manchu Town and Honghai Street in Bayuquan District in the north. The town is high in the east and low in the west, mountainous in the east and hilly in the south. It belongs to the remnant vein of Qian Shan in Changbai Mountain, and the coastal area is plain. The territory belongs to the Qianshan needle broad-leaved forest area, the eastern mountainous area is divided into brown forest zone, and the central and western areas are silty soil and middle loess zone. The low mountain area belongs to the brown forest area in the eastern mountainous area of Liaodong Peninsula and the brown forest area in the Qianshan mountainous area. The mountainous area is dominated by brown forest soil, and the cultivated land in mountainous area is mostly mountainous sand and silt, with loose land and good drainage.

"Xiong Yue", a distinctive name, is a compound word of "bear" and "Yue", which originated from Wanger Mountain.

Bears, mammals, are big and upright; Yue refers to a tall mountain. Because there is a mountain between Wanger Mountain and Manshou Mountain in the east of the city, it used to be called Qiushan, commonly known as Bagou Mountain. There is a boulder on the south slope of Shanxi, about three feet high, just like a crouching stone bear. It's wonderful and lifelike. This mountain is named Xiongqiu Mountain because of the stone bear. The squire suggested naming the city after Xiongqiu. The original meaning of hills refers to hills. Locals also call it earth graves. Because of the taboo of the word mountain, the word mountain is added to make it yue. Xiong Yue's name came from this. Xiong Yue: A mountain like a bear. Wanger Mountain looks like an upright bear, strong and abrupt, hence the name "Woong San".

During the Liao Dynasty, the city site was moved to Xiongyue City, a county under the jurisdiction of Luzhou, and a tucheng was built. After Liaojian Tucheng was built, Luzhou officials and gentry and celebrities boarded the North Gate Building and proposed the name of the new city. Later it belonged to Bohai State and was built by Hong (698-926 AD). At that time, Bohai called Shicheng "Lushan County". After the country was destroyed by the Khitan, "Liao" was established and the county "Luzhou" was set up, which is why scholars often use Luzhou books to write poems.
