East China University of Science and Technology, formerly known as East China Institute of Chemical Technology, was formed by merging the chemistry departments of Jiaotong University (Shanghai), Aurora University (Shanghai), Datong University (Shanghai), Soochow University (Suzhou) and Jiangnan University (Wuxi). 1952. It is the first institution of higher learning with famous chemical characteristics in New China, and is known as the "cradle of chemical engineers" in China. 1956 was designated as one of the first batch of graduate schools in China. 1960 was identified by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China as a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education. 1993 was renamed East China University of Science and Technology with the approval of the State Education Commission. 1 1 year entered the national "2 1 project". In 2000, the Graduate School was established with the approval of the Ministry of Education. In 2008, it was approved to build the "985 Engineering Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform". 20 17 was selected as a "double first-class" university in China. Chemistry, materials science and engineering, chemical engineering and technology were selected as first-class disciplines.
The school has three campuses, Xuhui, Fengxian and Jinshan, with a total area of 2,532 mu, a total area of 950,000 square meters of various buildings, and a total library collection of 35 1000 books. There are analysis and testing centers, jewelry testing centers and other national metrological certification units. The school was awarded the honorary title of "Civilized Unit (Campus)" in Shanghai for 13 times.
