The Quality of English Teaching in Primary Schools under the Information Technology

In information technology teaching, teachers should not only rely on simple teaching courseware for English teaching, so the teaching effect is not ideal, and should also pay attention to combining other English teaching activities.

abstract:

With the continuous strengthening of China's comprehensive national strength, information technology is more and more widely used in various life practices, and information technology elements are gradually introduced into education, and teaching practice has achieved good results. In order to improve the quality of English teaching in primary schools, it is necessary for teachers to actively adopt effective strategies to better combine classroom teaching with English courses.

Key words:

Information technology; Primary school stage; ELT

In order to improve the quality of English teaching in primary schools, it is necessary to introduce information technology, but it also needs appropriate practical strategies to actively introduce it, otherwise it will be difficult to effectively improve the quality of English teaching. Therefore, in order to realize the effectiveness of English classroom teaching in primary schools, teachers should actively explore practical strategies. The author will talk about some effective strategies to improve the quality of English teaching in combination with some problems encountered by information technology in teaching practice, hoping to help all colleagues.

First, some problems of information technology in English teaching practice in primary schools

1. Backward teaching concept

Some primary school English teachers still have the traditional thought of exam-oriented education in their subjective teaching consciousness. They adopt the strategy of asking students questions, so that students can practice English test questions day after day, including multiple-choice questions, fill-in-the-blank questions and writing questions. Although it is highly targeted, it is difficult to achieve the ideal effect in practice. Therefore, the problem of backward concept needs to be solved urgently.

2. Lack of skills in applying information technology

This is mainly manifested in some aging teachers with rich teaching experience. The main reason for this phenomenon should be attributed to their time, and because teachers have been busy with teaching practice and have not enough time to receive fresh information technology training, some teachers lack teaching skills.

3. The teaching method is too simple.

In practice, the author finds that the teaching method is too simplistic, and teachers do not effectively combine information technology teaching with other teaching activities, but mechanically play multimedia slides or related videos to students, which is also a reason why it is difficult to improve the quality of English teaching.

Second, effective strategies to improve the quality of English teaching in primary schools

1. Innovate teaching ideas and get rid of traditional ideas.

As a language discipline, English pays more attention to the cultivation of practical ability. Of course, the author does not mean that the improvement of cultural level can be put down, but that English knowledge and comprehensive ability should be improved together. Otherwise, it is impossible to improve the teaching quality. However, the traditional thought of exam-oriented education has been deeply rooted in English teachers' teaching concepts. What is sea tactics? Teaching phenomena emerge one after another. It is precisely because of these factors that primary school students have been faced with rigid and mechanical classroom teaching mode since childhood, and students' interest in learning has gradually disappeared. On this basis, how easy is it to improve the quality of English teaching? Therefore, in order to effectively improve the quality of English teaching in primary schools, teachers must completely innovate teaching concepts, establish the concept of quality education under the requirements of the new curriculum, and let primary school students learn English in a happy and pleasant teaching environment, thus improving the efficiency of English teaching.

2. Improve application skills and popularize information-based teaching.

With the continuous development of network resources and science and technology, information technology is quietly entering our lives, which brings good news to education. Therefore, in order to improve the quality of English teaching in primary schools, teachers should actively introduce information technology teaching mode to create a multi-sensory, all-round and three-dimensional teaching atmosphere for primary school students, so as to fully stimulate their subjective initiative in learning English, broaden their knowledge and improve their overall English level. Therefore, in order to improve the application effect of information technology in primary school English classroom teaching, teachers must master good application ability, mainly in hardware and software. Hardware mainly includes computer projection equipment, audio equipment, file transmission equipment, etc. And the software mainly includes computer operating software such as Word, Excel and PPT. Through the application of hardware and software, the effectiveness of information technology teaching can be improved to the maximum extent. In order to improve English teachers' information technology application skills, schools can organize information technology training sessions on campus or let English teachers visit the practice process of using information technology to carry out teaching in other schools, and learn during the visit. In this way, English teachers' practical skills in using information technology can be gradually improved, and then better applied to practical teaching.

3. Combine various ways to create a good situation.

In information technology teaching, teachers can't just rely on teaching courseware to teach English, and the teaching effect is not ideal. They should also pay attention to other English teaching activities, such as group cooperative learning, creating problem situations or role playing. Only in this way can primary school students' interest in learning be stimulated to the maximum extent and their attention be firmly focused on English classroom teaching practice. For example, Unit4It, the second volume of English for Grade Four in Teacher Education Edition? In the classroom of swarmtoday, teachers can use information technology teaching mode to create good problem situations, which can arouse students' deep thinking and stimulate their interest in learning English knowledge in this unit, such as? Students, what do you think of the weather today? Then, how to ask about the weather today or yesterday in English? Then, by creating such a questioning situation, we can lead to today's learning theme: What? Somewhere in stheweatherlikein

In short, in the primary school English teaching stage, teachers should actively combine information technology teaching elements to improve the effectiveness of primary school English classroom teaching. In order to achieve this teaching goal, English teachers should actively innovate teaching ideas, get rid of the traditional exam-oriented teaching ideas, organize skills training, improve English teachers' comprehensive application ability of information technology, and pay more attention to the combination with other teaching activities, so as to maximize the promotion of information technology teaching to English courses.
