The library of Shihezi University was formed by the merger of the former Shihezi Agricultural College, Shihezi Medical College and the Education College of the Corps. 1996. Shaw Library was built in September, 1999. April 20 13, the reconstruction and expansion project of the Central Library was completed and put into use. The library has 1 main library, 3 branch libraries and 20 professional libraries. It has a total area of 52,000 square meters, 5,066 reading seats, a total collection of 3 million books and more than 90 kinds of databases. 1 Shihezi university library1979 was designated as the collection point of FAO in Xinjiang in May; 1995 was designated by the state as a provincial sci-tech novelty retrieval unit.
