What documents mention the history and nature of Guangzhou?
There have been two climaxes in Guangdong history, namely, the Xuehaitang period of Ruan Yuan in the middle of Qing Dynasty and the Guangya Bookstore period of Zhang Zhidong in the late Qing Dynasty. For more than 100 years after Guangya Bookstore, there was no large-scale document compilation and book publishing in Guangzhou. The documents collected in Guangzhou Grand Ceremony come from nearly 100 libraries and document collection units at home and abroad. The system has collected more than 3,500 works about Guangzhou before191,works of Guangzhou people and Guangzhou edition series, with nearly 2,000 authors, which are divided into five parts: classics, history, books, collections and collections, and compiled into more than 540 volumes. The selected literature has a wide range, rich content and huge quantity, far exceeding the total amount of books engraved by Xuehaitang and Guangya Bookstore. Many documents have been hidden in the boudoir for a long time, and the compilation of "Da Dian" has exposed a large number of documents that have been shelved for a long time.

The published "Guangya Collection" added the appendix "Guangya Hanmo", which included Zhang Zhidong's manuscript collected by Mr. Wang Guichen. These manuscripts were published to the public for the first time and are very precious. The miscellaneous history category of the History Department includes a number of manuscripts such as A Brief History of Foreign Style, A Brief History of Opium, A New Record of Geng Xin in a Smoky Sea, A Record of Britain and Guangdong Entering the City, A New Besieged City of the Red Scarf Army, and A Chronicle of Guangdong Style, which provides precious historical materials for studying Guangzhou's politics and military affairs during the Opium War and the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. A large number of archives reports of Guangdong Consultation Bureau are the first-hand materials to study the constitutional history of the late Qing Dynasty. Panyu Zhao's Longan Book, Betel Nut Book and Yanjing Book are classified as sub-agriculture, and they are the only books about these crops in ancient Lingnan area. These documents have strong local characteristics and great value, which is of great benefit to local academic and cultural research.

Guangzhou literary classics scattered around the world are the "root" and "soul" for Guangzhou to find its own historical origin, sort out its own development vein and better move towards the future. After the compilation of Guangzhou Grand Ceremony, it is equivalent to sorting out 70% of the literature and classics in Guangdong history.
