Yan's works include Bujitu, Emperors of Past Dynasties, Lanting Map Obtained by Xiao Yi, Twenty-four Masters of Lingyange, Eighteen Scholars, Five Kings of Bamboo Forest and so on.

1, Walking Map

This picture reflects the story of Tibetan king Songzan Gambu marrying Princess Wencheng into Tibet. The works are elegant and gorgeous in color, smooth and round in lines and changeable in composition. They are representative works of paintings in the Tang Dynasty.

2. Maps of emperors of past dynasties

The whole volume is painted with portraits of thirteen emperors from the Han Dynasty to the Sui Dynasty. Painters not only pay attention to depicting the same characteristics and temperament of feudal rulers, but also successfully shape typical historical figures with outstanding personalities according to the political actions and different circumstances and destinies of each emperor.

3. "Xiao Yi Earns Lanting Map"

This painting is based on the story of Preface to Lanting written by Emperor Taizong. The scenery in the picture is quaint and the characters are vivid, which vividly records the tea ceremony etiquette of the temples in the Tang Dynasty.

4. Figure of Twenty-four Heroes in Lingyange

This painting was written by Emperor Taizong himself, painted by Yan, a famous painter at that time, and inscribed by Chu Suiliang, the first calligrapher in the world. This is a masterpiece.

5. "Five Kings of Bamboo Forest"

This painting has an inscription by Emperor Gaozong of the Qing Dynasty. Emperor Gaozong thinks that this painting depicts Ji Kang, Ruan Ji, Dan Tao, Xiang embroidery, Liu Ling, Ruan Xian and Wang Rong, among which Wang Rong and Dan Tao are not in the painting.
