2. Oxford University
Oxford University is the oldest university in the English-speaking world, founded in 1096. At present, the university ranks fifth in the world, and has an impressive connection with 69 Nobel Prize winners. More celebrities and powerful people have passed through its historical gate.

3. Durham University
Compared with Cambridge and Oxford, Durham University is a relatively young institution of higher education-it is by no means new. Founded in 1832, its amazing architecture is described as "one of the best experiences in Europe in the eyes of those who appreciate architecture".
Like Oxford and Cambridge, Durham is also divided into colleges, which were established at different stages of its growth. One of the university colleges, located in Durham Castle, was built in 1 1 century, and 100 lucky students lived and studied here. The university is currently ranked 86th in the world.
4. University of Glasgow
Driving northward from Durham, Glasgow University, together with Aberdeen, Edinburgh and St Andrews, is known as one of the "four oldest universities in Scotland". It is a part of Russell Group, a research-intensive university, and the main center of the Scottish Enlightenment.
The university was founded on 145 1, and 1870 moved to its current address. This amazing main building was designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott in 1886. Ranked 77th in the QS World University Ranking of 202 1.
5. Royal holloway College, University of London
Royal holloway College was founded in 1879 and became a member of London University in 1900. Its headquarters is in Surrey, outside the British capital. Its striking Gothic Renaissance founder building was completed in 188 1, designed by William Henrik rossland and inspired by champagne in the Loire Valley.
6. Queen's University of Belfast
Queen's University Belfast Queen's University Belfast is the highest ranked university in Northern Ireland and currently ranks 209th in the world. Founded in 1849, it originated from the earlier Royal Belfast academic institution and was established in 18 10, which is considered as one of the oldest universities in Britain.
The core of its campus is the red brick gothic Lanyon building, which is opened in 1849 and named after its architect Charles Lanyon.
