What's the difference between cloisonne and enamel?
Recently, I saw many friends asking what is the difference between cloisonne and enamel. Let me briefly talk about the difference between cloisonne and enamel.

1, Cloisonne began in Jingtai in Ming Dynasty, and it was only blue when it was first established, so it was called Cloisonne. This is a unique process that combines porcelain and copper. Beijing is the birthplace of cloisonne technology. During the Jingtai period of the Ming Dynasty, that is, from 1450 to 1456, craftsmen discovered a dark blue glaze. Handicrafts made of this material are called cloisonne.

2. To make cloisonne, firstly, we should use red copper as the tire, then stick patterns on the tire with flat and thin copper wires, and then embed the patterns with enamel glazes of different colors. After this process is completed, it is repeatedly sintered, polished and plated with gold, so it is also called cloisonne.

3. Enamel ware is also a composite technology product integrating metal making and enamel glaze processing. In addition to cloisonne enamel, there are many kinds of enamel, such as painting enamel, transparent enamel, hammer enamel, chisel enamel and so on, according to the different metal processing technology and specific treatment methods of enamel glaze.

The above is the introduction of the difference between cloisonne and enamel.
