The Historical Destiny of Haiyuan Pavilion
After 1930s, Haiyuan Pavilion experienced wars, buildings were damaged, and treasures were scattered. Only a few of them were transferred to the National Library and Shandong Provincial Library. The party and government attach great importance to Haiyuan Pavilion. As early as June 1947, when Liaocheng was liberated, a certain department of the Eighth Route Army issued three orders to enter the city, and the second one was to "protect Haiyuange Library, one of the four major bibliophiles in China". 1June, 956, the people's government of Shandong Province listed Haiyuan Pavilion as the first batch of provincial key cultural relics protection units. In order to promote national culture and promote opening to the outside world, Liaocheng Municipal Government raised huge sum of money to repair Haiyuan Pavilion on June 1992+00. The rebuilt building is located in the original site. Because it is an old system, it has a single eaves and two floors, blue bricks and gray tiles, and red paint beams and columns. Both the main house and the matching house are made of brick-wood structure, with a mansion in front and steps in the back, and wooden lattice doors and windows, which have a strong architectural style of quadrangles in northern China in Qing Dynasty. Haiyuange

On both sides of the gate of Haiyuan Pavilion, a couplet inscribed by Hu Qiaomu, "One person dedicates the interests of ten thousand people, and four generations of books are immortal", is hung conspicuously. From 65438 to 0998, Haiyuan Pavilion Management Office was established, which was responsible for the publicity of Haiyuan Pavilion, the collection and arrangement of ancient books and cultural relics of Haiyuan Pavilion, and the exhibition of the development history of Haiyuan Pavilion was held. The exhibition is divided into three exhibition halls: preface, background of the times, collection survey, collection rise, collection development, collection management, status and contribution, revitalization, inscription by famous artists and conclusion. Exhibits include seals of Yang, portraits of masters of past dynasties, more than 20 manuscripts of letters between Yang Yi and Lin Zexu, and many pictures of precious cultural relics. There are also thousands of paintings and nearly 10,000 ancient books by party and state leaders such as Wan Li, Gu Mu, Song Renqiong, Qi Gong, Shen Peng, Liu Bingsen and Li Kuchan.

Haiyuange is a symbol of Liaocheng's cultural prosperity. It complements the majestic Guangdong Tower, the Shanshan Guild Hall with carved beams and painted buildings and the beautiful dongchang lake, adding infinite charm to Jiangbei Watertown.
