There are two kinds of books and periodicals collected in the library. Chinese books use the Chinese Library Book Classification (except a few old books before the Cultural Revolution). Foreign language books, periodicals and materials are classified by the Library of China Academy of Sciences, and all books, periodical reading rooms and lending rooms (libraries) are classified and shelved to facilitate readers to find documents and materials from the subject knowledge system of books and periodicals. At present, our library has more than a dozen sets of catalogues of Chinese and foreign books and periodicals for readers to consult. Among them, the data of Chinese books and periodicals collections have basically been machine-readable and have been online for readers to search inside and outside the library. Our library is a member of the Joint Cataloguing Center of China Library, and also the processing center of the joint catalogue of foreign periodicals in Fujian universities, which is compiled together with the joint catalogue of foreign periodicals in Fujian universities and its database.
