1. Only forgiveness: Without forgiving Roland, Angela killed everyone in the library (including the secretary), and the library flooded and expanded, devouring the southern part of the city for 13 years. Finally, Angela died at the hands of a book hunter who followed her obsession.

2. The only salvation: forgive Roland, but don't forgive Angela. Roland killed Angela, and the library disappeared like a mirage with Angela's death. Roland returned to the city to live a life of drinking, taking drugs and doing dirty work, and finally died in a sewer, covered in weapons.

3. Spiritual redemption: Forgive Roland, and also forgive Angela, the wheel of hatred and death that Roland and Angela stopped together. Roland finally recognized Angela, and Angela became a robot again. People who become books in the library will eventually be reborn in a corner of the city.
