What does response surface method mean?
Response surface method refers to approaching implicit limit state function with polynomial function through a series of deterministic experiments.

1. By choosing test points and iteration strategies reasonably, the failure probability of polynomial function can converge to the failure probability of true implicit limit state function.

2. When the nonlinear degree of the limit state function is not great, the linear response surface method has higher approximate accuracy, and the basic idea of quadratic response surface method without cross term is similar to that of linear response surface method.

3. The basic idea is to approximate the implicit limit state equation with a linear polynomial, determine the undetermined coefficient of the linear polynomial through experimental design, and ensure that the failure probability of the linear response surface has a certain approximate accuracy to the real failure probability through iteration.

4. Neither the experimental design nor the optimization method can give an intuitive graph, so it is impossible to intuitively observe its optimization points. Although the optimal value can be found, it is difficult to determine the optimization area intuitively. Therefore, response surface analysis, also known as response surface method, came into being.

5. Response surface analysis is also an optimization method, which takes the response of the system as a function of one or more factors such as extractant concentration and acidity, and shows this functional relationship with graphic technology.
