Nobel Prize winner elie wiesel once said: Forgetting the Holocaust is the second Holocaust. The Nanjing Massacre was the worst in World War II, but European countries knew nothing about it after the war. Even in American history, there is no detailed record of this war, and there are only a few strokes in textbooks.

At this moment, Zhang Chunru stood out. She visited various places, consulted a lot of materials and wrote the book Nanjing Massacre. This book was published in 1997, and it entered the best seller list in The New York Times within one month, and was named the most popular book of the year, but Zhang Chunru was soon killed.

Who's Zhang Chunru? She was born in a scholarly family on 1968. She grew up to be the governor of Illinois, brilliant and eloquent. Even adults are often speechless by her. Her grandfather, Zhang Tiejun, an anti-Japanese general, told Zhang Chunru what happened on the battlefield when he was young. Whenever he talks about the Nanjing Massacre, his heart is full of anger.

This matter has a great influence on Zhang Chunru. Every time she goes to the library, she will look up books on this subject, but there is not much information. From then on, she decided to let western readers know about this history. She majored in computer science at the University of Illinois. In her junior year, she gave up her upcoming degree and switched to journalism, where she wrote full-time after graduation.

199 1 year, she met her Mr. Right Douglas, and they fell in love at first sight at the dance. Douglas's grandfather was a member of the Flying Tigers in World War II, but both of them had similar experiences and gradually came together and got married. Zhang Chunru wanted to finish this book before the people who had experienced the war died completely. After marriage, she got the support of her husband, so she began to visit all over the world and found many devoted survivors.

She also found very valuable materials, one of which was Rabe's diary, which recorded more than 500 tragedies, and the other was Walter Lin's diary, which recorded in detail all kinds of atrocities that Ms. Walter Lin saw during the Nanjing Massacre. Every time Zhang Chunru writes, her heart is very angry, which leads to a lot of hair loss, emaciation and even mild depression. You can imagine how she felt when she was writing a book. She worked ten hours a day and had only one thought in her heart, so that people all over the world could know the truth.

1997, after three years of hard work, the book Nanjing Massacre was finally completed. This book is very detailed, including why the Japanese did it, so it caused a great sensation once it was published. At the same time, Zhang Chunru was harassed and intimidated by Japanese left-wing forces, and she was already suffering from depression, which was tantamount to adding insult to injury.

Zhang Chunru kept changing her phone number, afraid of leaking information about her husband and son, and wanted to move frequently, but the Japanese refused to give up. She told her friends that she had been living in fear. But she firmly believes that people who forget history will only repeat the same mistakes, so she also wants to make a movie about Japan's invasion of China, because the movie will give people a deeper impression.

However, in the face of the enemy's harassment, she couldn't finish what she wanted to do. In 2004, Zhang Chunru's depression became more and more serious, and she was taken to the hospital. The Japanese pretended to visit her, and constantly stimulated her with words, which led to Zhang Chunru's depressed mood and aggravated her illness. On June 9, 2004, Zhang Chunru drove to a desolate road and shot himself with tears in his eyes. She was only 36 years old, when her child had just turned two.

As soon as the news spread, it caused great repercussions, and the whole world was saddened by it, except Japan. Zhang Chunru is a weak woman, but she gave her life for this period of history, which is admirable. As said at the beginning, forgetting the Holocaust is the second Holocaust. I hope everyone can remember this history.
