Pupils' Library is a set of books for pupils published by the Commercial Press in 1930s. Editor-in-chief Wang collected nearly 200 educators, writers and experts in various fields, covering nature, society, culture, life and other aspects, with a total of 500 volumes in 45 categories, which had a great social impact at that time. Now it is reprinted by Dolphin Publishing House.
Mr. Song Juzhi mentioned the Commercial Press 1933 Primary School Library.
Mr. Song Juzhi, My Picture Book Theory (Dolphin Library of Dolphin Publishing House)
When President Yu came to Dolphin Publishing House, he mentioned the children's library of the Commercial Press in his conversation with me. At that time, I also found some pictures of children's libraries online. So, after reading the course of Japanese picture books, I saw this passage:
In the preface of World Vision, Comenius paid attention to three principles when writing textbooks. These three principles can be summarized as follows: First, make the school a place where children can feel happy. Second, it helps children to turn their attention to various things. Third, let children absorb the knowledge of the world while playing happily. In the 20th century, these principles were brilliantly applied to picture books. They are 19 17 respectively. The refreshing picture books published by the Soviet Union after the October Revolution are considered to be influenced by the series of picture books by Bill Caster of France and Britain. By the way, seeing 1933 "Pupils' Library" published by China (published by the Commercial Press), I feel the same spirit as Comenius's "World Vision".
It is also because of President Yu's previous impression that I pay more attention to this paragraph. It must be said that, to a considerable extent, the prosperity and height of publishing during the Republic of China were still out of reach.
