Yang Hongguang's anecdote
Yang Hongguang was a soldier all his life and had no family. His family has been living in Yingpan (now the county kindergarten) and Taiping's hometown. Before and after the Anti-Japanese War, the general went home three times at 1940, 1945 and 1946. 1945 autumn, three days after he returned to Suijiang, he attended the welcome meeting of Suijiang Middle School in casual clothes, introduced the situation of the Anti-Japanese War, encouraged his students to study hard and strive to be a pillar of the country in the future, and presented the school with a captured globe, 1 library for middle school students with about 500 volumes, and gave each of the 200 students two gold star pencil boxes and an American aviation envelope printed with USA. /kloc-in the winter of 0/946, his stepmother died and Yang Hongguang went home for burial. He walked from Taiping along Yihui River to Yihui Ship and transported it to Wenjinmen, the county seat. General Pima Dai Xiao, thinking that he was too busy serving his country to be filial, cried all the way, and was able to move forward with the help of the filial piety stick. The people of Suijiang were deeply moved, saying that loyalty, filial piety and righteousness are true. After the funeral, General Yang, dressed in casual clothes, personally came to Xinjiezi with gifts to visit the 95-year-old birthday star Jiang Boheng. According to Chen Defu's memory, Lao Jiang was very excited at that time and said with a smile: "I am an ordinary person, how dare I grow up hard?" General Yang said: "I returned to Suijiang as a common people! You are the oldest person in the city, and I should come to see you. " When the general came out to visit the birthday boy, he saw a child fall in the street. He quickly stepped forward to help him and patted off the dirt. He smiled and said in Suijiang words, "Little doll should walk carefully in the future." This incident is a much-told story among the people, praising the general for respecting the old and loving the young, without any bureaucratic airs. Yang Hongguang is not arrogant and extravagant because he is an official, but he loves hard-working villages and towns, rich or poor. Fan Hegou once "floated on the water" and stood guard at the door when the general returned home. An old man in rags wanted to enter the door, so he reprimanded him loudly and refused to let him in, just as the general left. The old man cursed "Yang Hongguang, you are a terrible official, feeding dogs and biting people". The old man is the general's uncle, so the general ordered that no one should close the door in the future. Because the old house in the camp is dilapidated, the general wants to tear it down and rebuild a new one. It was suggested that he buy several houses facing the street in the former residence of the scholar in Lu Tao Village, or exchange them with shops in Xinjiezi, so as to expand the construction area of the mansion. There is a hotel upstairs and a teahouse downstairs in Lujia's house, and the whole family depends on it to make a living. They are unwilling to sell or change. In private, he said: "Yang Bocheng has become a big official and can't see the people. He wants to drive away the people by building a mansion. " After hearing these comments, General Yang Hongguang felt very unhappy and decided to change his mind. At the welcome meeting held for him in Suijiang Middle School, Huang Chonghua, the county magistrate, and Zhao Yuanzhang, secretary of the Kuomintang Party Department, pushed him to be the chief executive. The general said modestly, "You are my parents, I am a common people under your jurisdiction, and I can't be an officer." Stick to the third position. He said to all the people present: "Although I have been a modest official, I have returned to my hometown of Suijiang, and I am still a common people. The official position does not oppress the hard time emerging. I, Yang Bocheng, don't do anything sorry for my hometown in Suijiang, and I don't buy a house and change rooms to repair a mansion. " General Yang Hongguang kept his promise, and his family still lived in shabby houses until 1952 county kindergarten moved in. Although the general doesn't have much time to return to his hometown, he is very concerned about Suijiang. 1936 donated books to Suijiang Library, 1946 donated 100 silver dollar to buy books for Suijiang Middle School (now Suiyi No.1 Middle School). Knowing that Yidu was short of funds, I donated the land left by my ancestors and rented a few stones. Its apartment in Cuihu, Kunming is the reception desk for Suijiang people to go out to study, join the army and find jobs. The general has many rewards for these young geniuses. The general himself is honest and self-sufficient, so that his family secretly traded guns with forces such as Wu and Suijiang Reading Club to maintain necessary expenses. 1June, 950, General Yang Hongguang died in Kunming at the age of 58, and his feat of resisting Japan will go down in history forever!
