Taiyuan University of Technology: Taiyuan University of Technology, formerly known as the National Institute of Western Studies, was founded in 1902. It is one of the first three national universities in China. Post-Shanxi University Engineering, Shanxi University Engineering; 1953 Independent College, named Taiyuan University of Technology, directly under the Ministry of Higher Education; 1962 belongs to Shanxi province; 1984 was renamed Taiyuan University of Technology. 1997 Taiyuan University of Technology and Shanxi Mining Institute directly under the Ministry of Coal founded by 1958 merged to form Taiyuan University of Technology.
