Relationship between vehicle technical condition and driving safety

In order to ensure the safety of the vehicle, in addition to regular inspection and maintenance of the vehicle, the driver should also strictly abide by the traffic regulations, improve driving skills and enhance the awareness of safe driving. The most important thing is to ensure that the vehicle is always in a good technical state. This paper discusses the relationship between vehicle technical condition and driving safety from four aspects: steering system, braking system, transmission system and loading.

Keywords: vehicle technical condition, driving safety

According to the report of the Ministry of Public Security, during the period of 1996, the traffic management departments of public security organs nationwide accepted 287,685 road traffic accidents, resulting in 73,655 deaths,174,447 injuries and direct economic losses of 172 billion yuan, up by 5.8% and 3.5% respectively compared with the period of 1995. The mortality rate per 10,000 motor vehicles is 20.1; There were 788 traffic accidents every day throughout the year, with 202 deaths and 478 injuries, resulting in direct economic losses of 4,765,438+10,000 yuan. Among so many traffic accidents, traffic accidents caused by poor vehicle safety account for a certain proportion. It is clearly stipulated in "Regulations on Road Traffic Management" and GB 7258 "Technical Conditions for Motor Vehicle Operation Safety" that motor vehicle assemblies, assemblies, accessories, braking devices, rearview mirrors, lighting and other equipment must be complete and in good mechanical condition. Therefore, whether the vehicle meets the standard requirements and whether the vehicle is in good condition during driving should be the first consideration of traffic managers and drivers, and it is particularly important to study the relationship between vehicle technical condition and driving safety.

1 Steering system and driving safety

The function of automobile steering system refers to the ability of automobile to keep or change the original driving direction according to the driver's requirements. Therefore, the technical condition of the steering system is the primary factor for safe driving. The common faults of steering system are: heavy steering, car tilting and self-deviation.

1. 1 heavy steering

It means that the steering wheel is difficult to turn when the car is driving, and it can't change direction and avoid obstacles flexibly and quickly according to the changes of roads and traffic, and it can't be straightened in time after turning, which makes the car out of control and causes ditch scraping accidents. The reason of heavy steering is that the parts are deformed in use or improperly adjusted during repair and assembly, and the clearance is too small.

1.2 automobile swing head

It refers to the phenomenon of left-right shimmy when the car is driving, and the driving trajectory twists and turns, which makes the car deviate from the normal driving trajectory, which makes it difficult to control the direction, occupies a wide road surface, and is easy to scratch, which makes the handling conditions of the car worse. The main reason of automobile head swing is that the gap between individual connecting pairs or bearings, kingpins and bushings in steering gear is too large.
