The library of Inner Mongolia University of Finance and Economics was founded in1960 (in July 2000, the former library of Inner Mongolia University of Finance and Economics merged with the former library of Inner Mongolia Economic Management Cadre College), and it is the only financial university library in Inner Mongolia, which has made great progress with the development of the college. Especially in recent years, with the continuous expansion of the school scale and the continuous improvement of the level of disciplines and specialties, the college has continuously increased its investment in the library, which has greatly improved the quantity and quality of the library's collections, reading environment and service level. The library has eight departments, including office, editorial department, information consulting department, technology department, circulation department I, circulation department II, reading department I and reading department II. At present, the library (East-West Area) covers an area of 7,900 square meters, with about 832,000 books, 9 17 reading seats and is open for nearly 80 hours every week.

The library of Inner Mongolia University of Finance and Economics has initially formed a multi-disciplinary, multi-type, multi-language and multi-carrier document guarantee system featuring economic management. There are 832,000 books (including reference books) and 74,000 kinds of electronic books. In recent years, while continuously strengthening the construction of printed literature resources, our library has also vigorously strengthened the construction of electronic literature resources, and introduced the full-text database of China journals, the full-text database of national excellent doctoral and master's dissertations, the full-text database of newspapers and periodicals copied by the National People's Congress, the digital library of scholars' home, EBSCO and other databases. In addition, our library actively develops the collected literature, and initially completes the construction of the Chinese book bibliography database, so that the literature resources of the library can basically meet the needs of teaching and scientific research.

Our library adheres to the service concept and purpose of "readers first, service first", keeps pace with the times under the new situation, constantly explores new ideas and methods, actively improves service means and improves service quality and level. Now it provides services such as reading in the library, borrowing books and periodicals, information consultation, online retrieval and reader training. In addition, the library also undertakes the teaching task of "Economic Literature Retrieval and Utilization".

In recent years, the library has accelerated its modernization, and now it has built a library LAN and two electronic reading rooms, with 60 terminals, which have the functions of searching electronic resources in the collection and browsing electronic resources online. In September 2004, the integrated management system of Huiwen Library, which has great influence in China, was successfully introduced. The system has been put into use in editorial department and circulation department, and provides online bibliographic inquiry service for teachers and students in the whole hospital. Various databases purchased and built by the library make the digitalization of the library take shape. At present, our library has initially formed a modern information service system.

The library has a professional technical team with high professional quality, which is well responsible for the business management, reader service, information consultation and technology development of the library. At present, there are 62 library staff, including 1 1 person with senior titles, 22 with intermediate titles and 57 with college education or above. The modernization of the library has greatly promoted the enthusiasm of librarians to learn all kinds of new knowledge and technologies, actively carried out academic research, and constantly improved their own quality, so that the library can continuously provide high-quality literature information services for readers with a brand-new image and modern management.

At present, our college is planning to build a modern library with an area of more than 27,300 square meters. The new library fully embodies the people-oriented concept in the functional layout, and adopts the integrated management mode of collection, lending, reading, management and inquiry, which will create a comfortable and elegant learning and research environment for readers and provide modern information services for teachers and students.

The development vision of our library: to become a networked, digital and modern open library, and to become the largest economic management literature information service center in Inner Mongolia.
