Brilliant achievements of science press
Advanced ideas, strategies, principles and measures have created remarkable achievements.

Double the variety and shorten the cycle.

As mentioned above, academic monographs, basic theories, basic materials, papers, applied technologies, reference books, reviews, popular science books and various academic journals are the concentrated expression of traditional publications of Science Press. However, before 1995 after the loss subsidy was stopped by the higher authorities, there were about 320 varieties of the first edition books every year. With the continuous strengthening of economic strength, it rose to 554 kinds by 1998, and 807 kinds of books were published every year from 1999 to 200 1 year, which was 2. 16 times that of 1995. Science Press publishes more than 4,000 books and nearly 200 periodicals, with an average of 8.2 books and more than 2 periodicals every day. As we all know, another problem that has plagued the publishing of academic works by science publishing houses in history is the long publishing cycle. 1996, in order to solve this long-standing problem, Science Publishing House allocated more than 4 million yuan, equipped with specialized manpower, and established a computer management network in the society. At the same time, the editorial department is equipped with a large number of latest computers, which provides convenience for editors to collect the latest information, process manuscripts, communicate with translators and transmit information. This has greatly improved the internal management level and work efficiency. Nowadays, the production of books and periodicals has reached the goal of "high quality and punctuality", effectively shortening the publishing cycle, from an average of more than 300 days in the past to an average of less than 150 days.

Increase investment and speed up the publication of key books.

Many outstanding large-scale series and national key publishing projects organized by Science Press before 1996 were delayed due to insufficient funds and other factors. After 1996, the financial and human resources were increased to make these books published as soon as possible. For example, the complete archaeological works of Guo Moruo * *10 volume, 1982 began to work, 1995 only published four volumes, and the rest were in a state of stagnation. 200 1, the club is equipped with specialized personnel and allocated funds. In 2002, on the occasion of the anniversary of Lao Guo's birth 1 10, all the volumes of 10 were reprinted, which was well received. The History of Science and Technology in China is planned to be published in 30 volumes, but the previous volume 1995 has not been published. After allocating manpower and increasing investment, 20 volumes have been published from 199 to 2002. Fauna of China, before 1996, only 1~3 volumes were published every year. From 1997 to 2002, the average volume was 10.5.

Sanzhi (Flora of China, Flora of China and Flora of Spore of China) was selected by scientists as 1999 Top Ten News in China.

Among them, the most remarkable feature is that it has expanded from the traditional fields of science (S) and technology (T) to the fields of education (E) and medicine (M). Among educational books, the extension from primary and secondary school teaching materials to college teaching materials has greatly improved the comprehensiveness, cutting-edge and publishing space of science publishing houses, and began to stand on the same starting line with large international publishing institutions.
