The line has been laid along Zhangba East Road, ZhanYan Lu Road, Yannan No.4 Road, Hanyao Road, South Third Ring Road, Changming Road, Xingfu Forest Belt, Guangyuntan Avenue, Chanba No.1 Road, Fengcheng No.2 Road, Hong Chu Road, Daxing East Road, West Second Ring Road and Tang Yan Road. They are all underground lines.

Xi Metro Line 8 runs through five administrative districts, including Yanta District, Xincheng District, Baqiao District, weiyang district and Lianhu District, and five new development zones, including High-tech Zone, Qujiang New District, Chanba Ecological Park, Economic Development Zone and Daxing New District of Xi City. Qitumen, Tang Yan Road, Electronic City, the central part of Qujiang New District, the southern part of Chanba Ecological Zone, Happy Forest Zone, Economic Development Zone, Daxing New District of Xi City and a series of residential areas are connected with commercial areas.
