(1) After the Nian army was divided into east and west, Dong Nian failed in his attempt to cross the Han River into Sichuan, and Li Hongzhang tried to besiege it in Jiaodong Peninsula. However, Dong Nianjun successfully broke through the Huaihe River by smuggling, but Ren Huabang was assassinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs because of frequent operations, insufficient supplies and treachery. Wang Laiwenguang was captured in Shouguang World War I and died heroically.
(2) Zhang Zongyu, the king of Liang, led an army into Shandong and tried to rescue Dongnian, but he was forced to retreat to the coastal areas of Shandong due to foreign interference and the attack of the Qing army. Due to the disunity of the troops, they finally had to lead the 18 cavalry into the Tuhai River, and the whole army was wiped out in the New Year.
(3) Luo Lihai (Luo's eldest brother) was originally the leader of Xiniu, but he was rescued by fishermen after he threw himself into the river. Zhang Zongyu, the king of Liang, also got away with it, and they returned to the scattered and gathered rebels. I don't know the ending of Luo.
Of course, this ending has idealistic elements, especially the content of being rescued, which is not found in history books (whether official or unofficial history).
