The research group of "Abstract of Chinese Core Journals" has carefully summarized the development experience of the first four editions, and conducted in-depth research on the basic theory, evaluation method, evaluation software, function and influence of core journals. On this basis, the evaluation method is further improved to make it more scientific and reasonable, so that the evaluation results can reflect the actual situation of China journals as accurately as possible.

The Catalogue of Chinese Core Journals was jointly published by China Knowledge Network, China Academic Journals Network and Peking University Library Journal Work Research Association. 1992, the catalogue of Chinese core journals was launched; 1996, Catalogue of Core Journals in China (Second Edition) was launched; In 2000, the Catalogue of China Core Journals (Third Edition) was launched.
