One of the notes on Xu Zhimo's poetry recitation
I always like extremely romantic and exquisite words. These words read like love.
When I was in high school, I liked to write poems, and every young artist will have this time. If a literary youth has never liked poetry, then I dare say that he is not a standard literary youth.
At that time, I liked Xu Zhimo because he wrote? I walked away gently, just as I came gently. I waved my hand and didn't take away a cloud? And then what? If I were a snowflake flying in the air, I would know my direction. Fly, fly, fly, and there is my direction on this land. ?
Besides Xu Zhimo, I also like Mr. Dai Wangshu's Rain Lane, which says? Holding an oil-paper umbrella, a person lingers in a long, long, long, long, long rain lane, hoping to meet a girl who is as sad as lilac. ? Up to now, every rainy day, I am inexplicably eager to meet a girl as sad as lilac in a strange alley.
And, of course, Bian He attend to city. Bian wrote this in Broken Chapters? You stand on the bridge and watch the scenery. The scenery watcher is watching you upstairs. The bright moon decorated your window. You decorated other people's dreams? ; And Gu Cheng wrote it in a generation? The night gave me black eyes, but I used them to look for light? He wrote in another poem, Far and Near? You look at me for a while and the clouds for a while. I think you look at me far away and the clouds are close. ?
Notes on Xu Zhimo's Poetry Reading (Ⅱ)
Farewell to Cambridge is one of Xu Zhimo's most influential works.
This is a short poem describing the beauty of nature and the author's mood. Poets are noble and praise nature. The description of the scenery in the poem is true and delicate, which shows that Cambridge has laid a deep imprint on the poet's heart. Not only that, Cambridge is also a poet's ideal. He said:? My vision was opened by Cambridge, my thirst for knowledge was touched by Cambridge, and my self-awareness was given to me by Cambridge. ? However, in devastated China, the times were reversed and people's livelihood was difficult, which gradually shattered the poet's Cambridge ideal. This poem was written on the way back to England in 1928. Revisiting the old place, scenes of the past evoke the author's memories of the past. How can the poet's sensitive heart not be sad when he leaves soon? The theme of this poem is to describe the natural beauty of Cambridge, and to show the author's attachment to Cambridge and his inner melancholy.
Poems expressing Xu Zhimo's unique spirit are all the rage. His poems are light and elegant, graceful and free and easy, integrating artistic conception, architecture, syllables and painting. At the same time, they integrated Chinese and foreign poetic arts and pursued one? Pure poetic feeling? . All these can be seen in Farewell to Cambridge.
This poem has a beautiful artistic conception, profound and implicit emotions, and delicate and unique poetic thinking. The poet takes the natural scenery of Cambridge as the direct lyric object and adopts the indirect lyric method, which embodies the feelings in the scene and the interaction between people and the scene. Reading through the whole poem, there is no place that is not about scenery, and there is no place that does not contain the poet's faint sadness of parting. The first verse of the poem:? Gently, I left, just as I came gently; I gently waved goodbye to the clouds in the western sky. ? The style of writing seems free and easy, but in fact it is helpless and melancholy: the poet knows that the beauty of Cambridge is eternal and can't be taken away, which changes people's state of mind, loses their dreams and takes away only seemingly dull attachment and sadness. Next, the poet regards Liu Jin as a bride in his heart in a metaphorical way, and even he is willing to be a water plant in Hekang River. Oily, swaying underwater? . In the fourth quarter, is the clear spring reflecting the rainbow in the sky, or is the rainbow in the sky integrated into the clear spring? That kind? Moonlight is like water, like water? The artistic conception is open and distant, just like the poet's faint but ubiquitous sadness. That gorgeous rainbow dream has long been crushed and precipitated in it. Perhaps it is a mourning for the ideals of Cambridge in the past? Emotion is constantly sublimated to a climax in every artistic conception. If the first four sections of this poem describe natural scenery, then the fifth section is about recalling people's activities. The poet seemed to see himself wandering in Cambridge in the past, looking for his dream. He was so high-spirited at that time. In reality, the poet can't help singing, but he can't sing because he wants to leave, because he is full of sadness and disappointment. Only silence is Cambridge tonight. The poet's mood is like a taut bow. The arrow was captured alive before it left the string. The faint thoughts once rose in an instant, but disappeared in an instant, just as he came quietly, echoing the beginning. The emotional clue of the poem is that the faint sadness gradually sublimates and rises, and instantly returns to the faint sadness. In this clue, the whole poem is integrated with the scenery. The subtlety of the poet's conception is reflected in the ingenious selection of materials. The beginning of the poem:? Gently, I'm leaving, okay The end of the poem:? Quietly, I'm leaving, okay Two in tandem? I'm leaving, okay? , indicating that the poet intercepted? Going? This moment, from arrival to departure, is not a long process. This moment is always fixed in the poet's mind. The poet's series of emotions in Cambridge and all the artistic conception he described were completed in an instant. Moment is eternity. Perhaps this is also the reason why A Farewell to Cambridge stands out among many parting lyrics, and is loved by the world and enduring.
Structurally, this poem. The whole poem consists of seven sections with four sentences each. Each section describes a scene and an artistic conception, and the sections are interrelated and connect the preceding with the following. Take the second and third paragraphs as examples. In the second section, the first two sentences describe the golden willow by the river, and the last two sentences deepen feelings with levels. The third section inherited what was written in the second section? Wave light? For writing? Underwater? . It can be seen that sentences and sections are interlocking. Poets attach great importance to the aesthetic function of lines. His poems are exquisite and neat. Such neatness focuses on the neat planning of the overall arrangement order of poems, and there is no rigid limit on the length of poems. This poem is in the form of poetry, which is long and short. The whole poem is patchy but not monotonous, which makes people feel the beauty of uneven pattern and the harmony of change in rigor and stability visually.
The poet said: the beauty of poetry lies not in its literal meaning, but in its elusive syllables. ? It can be seen that the poet pursues the rhythm and rhythm of syllables. In his poems, syllables and contents have reached a natural and perfect unity. ? Gently, I left, just as I came gently? Two? Gently? Overlap is not so much the rendering of artistic conception as the poet's intention to enhance the lightness of rhythm. Poets believe that rhythm is the inner life of poetry. What did he call it? Including syllable homogenization? , more is the pursuit of lines? Escape? The number of words is roughly equal, not words. Pause means distinguishing syllables according to different components in a sentence. For example, the last verse of a poem can be divided according to the meaning group:? Quietly,/I/left, just as I/quietly/came; I/wave/sleeve without taking away/a cloud. ? The number of pauses between each sentence of the poem is roughly equal, which makes the whole poem full of overall consistent rhythm. In phonology, this poem rhymes with even sentences, and rhymes with two or four sentences in the same section, resulting in a cadence of phonological beauty. In the poet's rhythmic singing, the artistic conception in the poem and the poet's melancholy are also changing and spreading.
In the form of modern vernacular Chinese, this poem inherits the ethereal elegance of China's classical traditional poetry, and also adopts the grammatical mode of phonology, which can be described as a combination of Chinese and Western. The color beauty of painting is also clearly reflected in poetry. In the poem, the clouds, golden willows, green flowers, clear springs and rainbows in the sky are brightly colored, and the beauty of Cambridge is written. Such a colorful picture scroll is not in contradiction with the poet's mood. It is because of its beauty that the poet is so hard to give up!
Notes on Xu Zhimo's Poetry Reading (Ⅲ)
Recently, I came across a biography of Xu Zhimo in the library. There is a black and white photo on the title page. In the photo, Xu Zhimo's suit is straight, the collar is white, and the tie under his neck stands out proudly. He is a complete genius. When I saw his well-known poem A Farewell to Cambridge, I was shocked by a strong spirit and felt such a coincidence in the world. In the last paragraph of the poem Farewell to Cambridge, the poet wrote:
I left quietly,
Just as I came quietly.
I waved my sleeve,
Don't take away a cloud.
Although he was brilliant, he died unexpectedly and alone in the sky when he only stayed in the world for 34 years. Maybe this is his original destination. I remember a great man once said that an idealist is the one who makes himself the least ideal. ?
Xu Zhimo's life is full of passion and persistent pursuit of ideals. The best of his poems are those that praise ideals and love. Especially in love, there are many people who persistently praise love all their lives, but few people dare to put romantic love in the complicated reality and bear the pressure of the world. Xu Zhimo divorced in pursuit of romantic love, so he turned against his mentor Liang Qichao's teachers and students, and his parents once disowned him. Under the oppression of feudal ethics, people still stubbornly wrote: I will visit my only soul mate in the vast sea of people, and I am lucky to get it; No, my life, that's it. ? However, his persistence in ideals, his pursuit of love, his hopeful attitude towards life, and his romantic and aesthetic colors are all like castles in the air. Because he was divorced from the objective reality, every time the poet finally failed to find his ideal soul mate. Cambridge's beautiful first love became eternal heartache with Lin's marriage. Later, Lu Xiaoman didn't know how to cherish the scandal, which made the poet even more sad. Poets who have repeatedly suffered setbacks in pursuing their ideals on earth have not escaped the fate of turning into colorful clouds.
Influenced by English romantic poetry style, Xu Zhimo's romance is pure but not frivolous, elegant but not vulgar, and his European aristocratic atmosphere makes him have a charming charm. Compared with Xu Zhimo in a suit and tie, I prefer the appearance in the title of the TV series "April Day on Earth", which is the feeling of Xu Zhimo in the 1930s in my mind. He never lacks followers among readers. Now, so is Xu Zhimo? Petty bourgeoisie? China writers favored by their families. Although he also exudes a strong atmosphere of bourgeois old literati who is divorced from reality and ultra-idealism, he has to admit objectively that Xu Zhimo is a genius.
Unfortunately, this talented poet only stayed in the world for 34 years. His short life is like a meteor that suddenly passes by, coming gently and walking quietly, but reflecting a strange light that people will always miss and never forget.
