Form:

Moth larvae are small white caterpillars that hide in silk bags or nets (called tube nests). A spindle-shaped silk bag with a dark brown head can be seen on the wall. Adults are light yellow insects and are afraid of light. If crushed to death, it will give off an unpleasant smell.

Feeding habits:

Larvae feed on wool, hair, fur and feathers, and move slowly. It will destroy textiles and endanger animal specimens in libraries or museums. (Adults don't feed)

Living environment:

Adults lay eggs on fur, feathers, leather goods, cracks in wooden floors, wool or dirty silk. Larvae will spin silk and form cocoons, with openings at both ends for feeding and action. Larvae grow in the cocoon and stay in the cocoon when pupating until the adult emerges. I especially like textiles stained with food or other pollution, and I can also see traces of moths in the folds of my collar or clothes. Pure cotton clothes are less likely to get hurt.

Prevention:

When the clothes are put away, the most appropriate way needs to be handled first. Take all the clothes out of the closet, clean up the wrinkles and expose them to the sun for several hours. Dry cleaning and wet cleaning should be ironed and sealed in plastic bags.
