I often take my students out to sketch, and let them finish two color sketches every day, and I do it myself. Because of this, I have accumulated some sketching exercises. Students majoring in architectural sketch focus on skills, especially modeling ability, which can fully represent objects in front of scenery and emphasize the recognition of objects on this basis. Sketch, as an expression tool, will pave the way for freehand drawing in future design. For students majoring in environmental art and design, on the basis of having certain modeling ability, they should pay attention to different expressions and the overall atmosphere of the picture. From painting performance to design performance, sketch expresses passion, image, sensibility and rationality coexist, different professional directions have different professional requirements, and modeling ability is the same as the foundation.

As an artistic skill, sketch can be said to be a performance tool; As an artistic language, it is more about expressing emotions and expressing a realm. When talking about sketch, the famous critic Mr. Mo Zhai once wrote: "Sketch is the first lightning to cut the chaotic universe; Sketch is the first fountain to pour out the painter's feelings; Sketch is the first gas field to capture the energy of heaven and earth; Sketching is the first sweetness to keep the impression of first love. I have always had a soft spot for old houses. I have painted colored ink for more than 20 years, and most of them wander in the field of vision of old houses. Even if you do pottery, you can't do without the performance of old houses and doors. Sketches are mostly about old houses. Looking back, when I started painting landscapes and sketches 30 years ago, I seemed to have an indissoluble bond with the old house. Every time I go out to sketch and see the old house I am interested in, I immediately have an impulse to paint. That kind of mood is even unbearable. I want to talk to it with a brush. The old house itself is a cultural relic, and the traces left here by the vicissitudes of time will make people nostalgic. Creativity can be expressed in many ways. Different shapes of old houses are a colorful content for shaping modeling ability and training performance ability, especially for students majoring in art and design, which is suitable for entry, performance and improvement.

Dig out a pile of sketchbooks almost covered with dust and shake off the "past". I have been engaged in art education in colleges and universities for 27 years and know the ups and downs of basic education. Sketching, after all, is different from creating works, mostly silent and unknown. But for students, entering and leaving the school gate are indispensable "housekeeping skills", so we must study hard and practice hard to make up for it. Sketch focuses on accumulation, improving skills, and at the same time, the car is rich and subtle. Sketch, painting for the top, artistic conception, ideas and interesting. This requires a long-term cultivation process. I often draw sketches when I go out to collect scenery and sketch, record some words in the scene, keep a diary, and record the feelings of life by combining pictures and words to keep it. For a person who chooses art as his career, painting literacy includes many aspects, and various cultural nourishment can enrich the painting language. When I shook off the backlog of sketches, I also dug up the diary of that year, which was an unforgettable miss. I chose some of them, which is not only a supplement to the sketch book, but also a sincere treatment of life and art. For young students who are studying now, it is not necessary to repeat our trajectory. It may be a reference to provide a method.

This collection of sketches collects my sketches in various places since I graduated from 1983 university and stayed as a teacher. They are called architectural sketches, mostly old houses, which can be said to be a kind of life record.
