The Institute of Geology and Geophysics of China Academy of Sciences is a comprehensive academic institution engaged in solid earth science research and education, and it is one of the earliest approved postgraduate enrollment and training units in China. 2. Institute of Surveying and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences
Institute of Surveying and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences was established in 1957. It is the earliest scientific research institution in the field of geodesy in China and the only non-profit research institute engaged in geodesy in China Academy of Sciences. 1970 belongs to the State Seismological Bureau, and 1978 was reconstructed by China Academy of Sciences.

The Institute of Geographical Sciences and Resources of Chinese Academy of Sciences was established with the approval of China Academy of Sciences in September 1999. It was integrated by the Institute of Geography of China Academy of Sciences (the former Institute of Geography of China was established in 1940) and the Comprehensive Investigation Committee of Natural Resources of China Academy of Sciences (established in 1956), and was included in the knowledge innovation pilot of China Academy of Sciences.

By August, 2009, the Library and Information Center of China Academy of Sciences had collected more than 1 1.45 million volumes (pieces), started the construction project of national scientific digital library, gradually completed the transformation from traditional library to digital library, and embarked on the development road of knowledge information research and knowledge service center.
