Combating illegal publications, that is, publications that violate the provisions of the Constitution of People's Republic of China (PRC), undermine social stability, endanger national security and incite ethnic division, infringing and pirated publications and other illegal publications.
It is an important means to purify the cultural market to carry out activities to eliminate pornography and illegal publications, which is the responsibility of the "Office for Combating Pornography and Illegal Publications". The State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television is responsible for organizing, guiding and coordinating the nationwide work of "eliminating pornography and illegal publications", organizing and investigating major cases, and undertaking the daily work of the national working group of "eliminating pornography and illegal publications".
Function adjustment:
(a) to strengthen the organization and coordination of the national work of "eliminating pornography and illegal publications" and the law enforcement and supervision functions of the publication market.
(2) The newly added functions involve formulating macro-control policies and measures for the publication market, and planning the total number, structure and layout of publishing, printing, reproduction and distribution units.
(3) Giving the function of supervising and managing the national publication market.
