The library of Hebei Geo University was founded in 1954, always relying on the development of the school. After nearly 60 years of development, a new multi-functional library has been built, which integrates book borrowing, reading, network query, digital audio-visual and online retrieval. With a total construction area of 27,800 square meters, it consists of the library of the headquarters and the branch library of the North Campus.
The library consists of 15 specialized reading rooms for paper documents, 1 electronic reading rooms, 1 intensive reading stacks, 3 donated reading rooms, 3 teacher training rooms, 9 study rooms, 2 conference rooms, 3,206 reading seats, and 1038 self-study seats can be reserved. As of September, 2022, the library has paper books 1.74 million volumes, more than 30,000 kinds of geological data and 47 electronic databases.
Hebei University of Geology, located in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, is one of the five universities directly under the former Ministry of Geology. It is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Natural Resources and the People's Government of Hebei Province, a key university in Hebei Province and a first-class university in Hebei Province. It is an authorized construction unit for doctoral degree.
