All kinds of shops in the street have uniformly decorated the external walls, beautified the buildings on both sides of the street and surrounding areas, installed night lighting facilities, and operated and consumed the book mall.
During the transformation, a large number of illegal buildings were demolished, and all fire exits were opened, forming three north-south pedestrian streets. Using the distance between buildings on both sides of the street, pedestrians can penetrate into the area between the street and the outside street through the connection of these passages, thus expanding and enhancing the business opportunities of the whole area.
After transformation, the main street of China Haidian Book City has a total length of 220 meters, a width of about 10 meter and a construction area of 67,000 square meters. The whole street consists of 16 buildings, such as Jihai Building, Haohai Building, China Bookstore and China Bookstore, Xueqin Calligraphy and Painting Club, Xiangyang Cultural and Sports Supplies Store, etc. It is a business district with cultural characteristics, mainly dealing in books and stationery, and supporting other business formats. After reloading, China Haidian Bookstore inherits the original architectural concept of Mr. Wu, a famous master of planning and design in China. The gray system of old Beijing is the main color, and the practice of regaining the gray brick wall of old Beijing in the design reflects the introverted and implicit cultural architectural personality, which is different from the modern architectural image of zhongguancun west.
In the north and south squares of the Book City, there are two landscapes, namely "playing with water in the south" and "spreading wings in the north", which means that the wise enjoy water and Peng Kun develops, and Haidian Book City is a sea of books, a holy place of culture and a source of wisdom and inspiration. After the baptism of knowledge, people accumulate wealth and fly to the high altitude of cultural and creative industries.
Landscape water is collected rainwater. Because the water consumption is not large, it is mainly transported from the pumping station of the Water Affairs Bureau, which reduces the project cost. At the same time, a special area has been set up in the North Square to lay permeable bricks, which fully embodies the concept of energy saving and environmental protection. All kinds of shops in the commercial street are decorated with external walls, and the buildings on both sides of the street and surrounding buildings are landscaped and equipped with night lighting facilities. After the illegal buildings in Haidian Bookstore were demolished, all the fire exits were opened, forming three pedestrian streets running north and south. In terms of outdoor gardens and road pavement, the reconstruction project of Haidian Book City's characteristic commercial street specially designed various barrier-free facilities such as blind roads, ramps, barrier-free toilets and barrier-free signs, which fully reflected the humanistic care of the characteristic commercial street.
In order to coordinate with the overall environment of the block, the plaque signs of the block are planned in a unified way, and the requirements of location and size are put forward, and public signs are set up. At the same time, in order to show the unique feelings and cultural charm of the book city, four locations were specially selected in Xueqin Calligraphy and Painting Club, and public service advertisements were set up to promote Haidian Book City. After the transformation, Haidian Book City is a business district with book culture characteristics, which is mainly based on book culture industry, supplemented by cultural leisure business and service industry.
