According to the relevant regulations of Sun Yat-sen University Library, non-school personnel can apply for temporary reading cards with their ID cards. Each card charges 10 yuan per day, up to 3 days. Those who can show their work permit, student ID card or military ID card at the same time will be charged 5 yuan for each card every day. The card provides books and periodicals reading and electronic reading room service.

Most university libraries have similar regulations, but the charge of CUHK seems to be higher.
