The architectural design of archives should follow the principles of safety, confidentiality, rational layout and scientific application, and meet the requirements of China people's and national industry standards "Code for Architectural Design of Archives" (JGJ25-20 10) and "Architectural Standard of Archives" (JB 103-2008).

The archives should be fireproof, waterproof (moisture-proof), anti-high-temperature, anti-theft, anti-insect, anti-rat, anti-harmful gas, anti-light and anti-magnetism.

Optical protection requirements:

1, the filing cabinet should be placed perpendicular to the window.

2. The window of the archive room should have red and black curtains to avoid direct sunlight.

Two, the size of each part of the filing cabinet and bookshelf arrangement shall meet the following requirements:

The clear width of the main channel should not be less than 1.00m, the clear width between two rows should not be less than 0.80m, and the distance between the top and the wall should not be less than 0.60m. The cabinets and shelves in the warehouse should be perpendicular to the wall with windows, and the lighting windows of the external walls should correspond to the channels between filing cabinets and shelves. When there is no window, it should correspond to the opening direction of the pipeline ventilation hole.

The ratio of the window area to the external wall area of each bay of the archive warehouse shall not be greater than 1: 10, and the archive warehouse shall not adopt cross-storey or cross-storey long windows. Safety protection measures such as iron railings or anti-theft nets should be installed on the external doors and windows of the archives warehouse.
