Reflections on the English Version of The Wizard of Oz
Our H3 English class finally finished the English version of The Wizard of Oz! Why should I speak English this time? Actually, it's not his version, but I have seen the Chinese version before and I don't quite understand what's in it, while the English version was recently taken by our class. Now let's talk about my feelings about reading this book.

The story begins tragically. The little girl Dorothy lives in gray Kansas. A sudden tornado blew her from Kansas to Oz! Although Oz is beautiful, Dorothy left her uncle and aunt. She was very sad. But her house shattered the evil witch of the East! She got the ruby shoes of the witch of the East! This pair of shoes has infinite magic, but the little girl didn't know it at that time. At this time, the kind northern witch appeared! He showed Dorothy a "bright road" (why did he say it after the quotation marks): "You can reach emerald city along the yellow brick road, and emerald city has a great Wizard of Oz that can take you back to Kansas!" Dorothy was so happy that she left at once.

Later, she met a scarecrow who needed courage, a tin man who needed heart, and a timid lion who needed courage. They went through difficulties and obstacles, arrived in emerald city, and asked Oz for help, but Oz said that on one condition, they must kill the wicked witch in the west! This almost made the four people desperate, but they really wanted Oz's help, so they went to Wenjiguo (a small country in the west). God has eyes, and a miracle happened. Dorothy actually melted the wicked witch in the west with a basin of water! The Tin Man also became the king of Moon Hee. Sadly, when they returned to emerald city, they found that Oz was a big liar! He's just an ordinary man! However, Oz still came up with a "way" for the scarecrow, the tin man and the timid lion, and gave them something almost fake! But they are satisfied. In fact, these things have unconsciously entered their bodies on the way!

This reminds me of a fable: "Before he died, a father told his three sons that there was a treasure in a field full of vines and told them to dig it. As a result, they dug and dug, and grapes grew on the grape rack! " That is to give you a virtual "goal", and you can harvest other things on the way! So do one thing, don't think that there are only the most "obvious" (actually not necessarily possible) aspects, and there are other aspects!

But what about Dorothy? What would she do? This Oz still has a conscience. He made a balloon for the first time and planned to take the little girl back to his hometown (near Kansas). On the day of takeoff, her puppy saw the cat and slipped away from her arms! That's why Dorothy missed the balloon! The scarecrow also inherited the throne of Oz! I imagine that her mood must be desperate! But God won't close one door, he will open another. An Oz soldier said that a kind southern witch could help Dorothy, so they set off.

In the middle, they went through a forest. The "timid" lion was regarded as the king of beasts in the forest because he killed a "local tyrant"-Spider Monster! Finally, they arrived at the southern witch. She said that Dorothy's ruby shoes could take her home! So she went home. Fairy tales have happy endings.

Therefore, it is very important to change people, just like the scarecrow and the three of them, who were originally "humble" but finally had their own careers and positions! And Dorothy, if she had known from the beginning that ruby shoes would fly her back, she wouldn't be today! She went through a lot in Oz! I believe she remembers this journey "now"!
